worse problem your horse has had?

What is the worse problem your horse has had, behavioral or otherwise? I think mine would have to be when one of the mares was nipping and basically attacking children. She never used to before so I did some investigation, turns out one of the kids who comes by hits her. We banned him from our place and after a while she went back to her usual kid loving self

Thrush. I detest thrush from the smell to the look. We had construction on the lot next to our place and it changed the drainage (basically it undid the overall street drainage) and it flooded our field and part of the stalls before we realized it. A couple vet bills later they decided to fix the drainage the way the town had it.

I worked with a horse once who used to charge the gate everytime it was opened. He never ran anyone down and would always cut off just before getting to the gate if you stood your ground. However, it looked like you were going to get trampled. If you stepped out of his way, he went through the gate and out to the open range.

That's terrible what a jerky little kid! It's so sad to know you can't be with your horses 24/7 and have this kind of thing happen. What was this child thinking? It's good you found out about this otherwise you would've probably just punish your horse for bad behaivor

Children don't think, thats whay adults need to supervise them and teach them how to treat animals until they are old enough to be trusted.

I used to ride a horse that would blow up when you saddled her. You had to check the girth at leat four times before it was tight enough. I can't count how many times I almost fell off getting on when she let out the air.
