Where to put a shelter

I am wondering about putting up a new shelter for my horse. I am just wondering where to put it. Right now the original one is in the middle of the pasture. I am wanting to move the new one towards the edge. Here is the problem, one side of the pasture is where the chickens are. Ideally this is the side I would want to put it on but I do not want to disturb the chickens or the horse. Maybe it is a bad idea. Does anyone have any real life experience on how horses and chickens do with each other?
Occasionally I will see the horse down by the chickens but not all that often. I am wondering if it is because they disturb each other or if it is just prefrence.

I've noticed that chickens tend to degrade the ground where they scratch, so that less grass grows there. Perhaps that's why the horse seems to spend less time near the chooks?

I've never noticed that chickens annoy horses much, but they can spook them as well as degrade the ground as mentioned. If you have a shelter why are you moving it? Perhaps you have another suitable place at the edge of the pasture to move it to?

I don't think it would be a problem

When I was a kid, we had a horse that was stabled in a small barn right next to the chicken coop. It never seemed to bother the horse or the chickens. Of course, our chickens were in a penned area so if yours aren't, that may make a difference.

I think it depends on the horse. If you find the horse is fine with the chickens, go right ahead. If the horse is irritated by the chickens, I'd find a better place for the shelter.

I don't know about chickens, but my aunts horse shares a stable with their goats. And they all get along, when they don't the horse will nudge a goat and kind of tell him to knock it off and then they are fine. I think it depends on the horse too, and if the Chicky's are penned or not.

I think it is all what the horses are used to. If the chickens start to spend lots of time actually in the barn that the horses will be sheltered in, then the horses might for a time be bothered. But some of it might be how clean the area is too, since chicken poop can really stink.

Our horse hangs out with our goat. They are best buds. Our chickens are cooped up and I was just worried that they might spook each other out.

I have never been around semi tame chickens, the ones I have been around though would have no issues attacking you or a horse, they were always mean.
