Halter Type?
Every time I turn around it seems I see yet another argument about what type of halter should be used on a horse to be safe. Some say rope, some say nylon with breakaway pieces, some say leather. What do you use and why?

We have one of each for ihorse. Normally he gets turned out without a halter and the halter is left on the gate. So normally it would be a nylon or rope so that getting a bit wet won't hurt it too much. We have a leather one with sheepskin cover pieces for trailering and one of those head bumper covers. If he didn't have such a fat face (honestly he has chubby cheeks like a baby) we'd probably have a show halter as well.
