What are you Feeding Your Horse?

What types of feed are you using and why? Do you change your horses diet in the Winter or during Show Season. Do you feed a vitamin supplement or add something special to your feed?

We feed our horses horse feed lol. We also give them hay, and oats. We usually mix the feed with the hay and that's what they eat each day. We give them oats as a special treat and the local children come and feed them carrots and apples once in a while.

We don't show our horses yet, but during winter we feed them the usual stuff and we do use vitamin supplements prescribed by the veterinarian for the colts, foals and pregnant mares.

I use regular commercial grade feed. I like that it's the right balance of grains. I also give hay and a bit of sweetfeed. Oh and carrots and turnips.
