Waterless Shampoo

I have heard that there is some kind of waterless shampoo that can be used in grooming your horse. Now that it is getting colder I am interested in this for the coming winter.

Have you heard of or used this? How is it used, and how effective is it? How often can it be used without a water wash in between?

Is that like the same type of thing you get for chinchillas, well they end up rolling around in it to clean, but I guess with a horse you would sprinkle it on?

I found this one product, but its not a powder, its some type of spray you use instead.

Most waterless grooming products are in one of four forms:sprays, foams, powders or wipes. Wipes are wiped over the coat to remove surface dirt and give the coat a clean look and fresh scent. Sprays and foams are worked into the coat, let dry and then brushed/vacuumed out to clean the skin and coat. Powders are sprinkled on and worked in and brushed or vacuumed out. Wipes work well if your horse is just a little dirty on the outside. The other three work better if the skin and coat is dirty.

Thank you for the information Cherokee. Do you know how effective these things are?

I am guessing that they couldn't be used too often as they wouldn't take care of everything, but they could really come in useful in the winter.
