Most horse toys are larger versions of what you might give to your dog, balls, roller things they can use their mouth on, etc. Toys are used to break boredom, teach new experiences and model natural behavior, just like any other animal or even children.

I can see that with children as toys teach them to use tools for instance that will help later in life, or model behaviours and relationships that they cannot experience another way (ie, getting to play doctor).
But how is kicking or biting a ball a natural horse behaviour? I've not met many equine football players ![]() |
