The first horse you ever rode, and your age at the time.
Pretty sure I haven't seen this thread anywhere else on the site, so here goes. What is the first Horse you rode, and how old were you?
For me I was 14, and I rode my aunt and uncles horse. He had one of the best temperaments of any horse I have ever seen, and was just about the best one I could have had for my my first ride. How about you? Do you remember what the horse was like? |

I guess I was in the 2nd grade. So that's 7 or 8. I was in the Brownies. That's like pre-girl scouts. We were working on a horse riding badge. There was a riding stable not too far from us. You know, the kind where you rent the horses for a few hours and ride around on the trails they have laid out. It was real nice, lots of woods, gentle horses. A real good experience.

The first time I was on a horse, it was a pony. One of those rides where the ponies are hooked to poles attached to a center and spread out in a circle. Ponies hooked to each one. You get to ride round and round for a few turns, then off you go.

I was 10 when I rode my first horse...it wasn't very long because I was really nervous and there was a line up, and it seemed like the horse was nervous too because it was kind of antsy too because it's head was moving a lot and the person who was walking with you kept trying to calm it down.

The first time I remember riding a horse, I was five. My parents said that I had rode in front of one them since I was three but I don't remember that far back. I don't know what kind of horse it was, just a gray horse that my dad had, called MoJo.

I rode ponies at the fair every year since I was about 3-4yrs old. I would forgo cotton candy to ride the ponies.
The first horse I rode was a chestnut gelding who wouldn't go past a fast walk without alot of persuasion. Couldn't tell you his name, although it might be on the back of the pictures I have somewhere in the closet. I was almost 12 since my mom made me wait til 11 to take lessons and the Girl Scout camp I took them at only offered them in the fall. And I didn't want to learn at summer camp with the other campers. |

The first horse I ever rode was the beautiful red & white mare I've spoken about in earlier posts named Ribbon. I was probably between the ages of 3-4 when my dad first put me up on that saddle and I've been a horse lover ever since.

I rode my first horse when I was about 8 years old. My uncle lived on a nice farm right next to us and I used to sneak over to his barn and beg him to lead me around on his horses. If I remember correctly the first one I ever rode was a very gentle black and white mare that he had owned for years and that was always so gentle and even tempered.
