I swear I'm the only horse lover around here who doesn't listen to country music. It's not that I hate the stuff, it's just not my favorite, you know what I mean? I'm a classical music lover (actually have my degree in music)... does this make me crazy? (according to the guys down at the feed depot - yes).

No you are not crazy at all. You just preferred something else. It doesn't mean that if you are a horse lover that you must also like country music.

Not crazy at all. I love country but there are a few horse friends that can't stand the twangy tune of it. It's just music, nothing else. I'm not big on classical myself, but I know others love it too.

I think it would be funny to see someone random in the barn with their horse rocking out to AD/DC or something similar. I do see many that listen to country though.

lol, we used to have a couple of barn workers at one snobby barn I rode at that spent all morning on the weekend discussing the party they had the night before and listening to hard rock. Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc. It was funny but none of them rode, they just worked there because tips were good. COuntry is actually the most popular genre in the US although it may not be apparent with as many top 40 listeners as they lead you to believe there are. I actually love country myself, but also enjoy many other genres as well.

Just kidding, I'm sure not all horse people like country music. I happen to love country music but I also listen to a variety of other styles, as well. As to the horses, I don't play the radio in the barn so they might prefer country...lol.

While I love country myself, I know many who don't really care for it. The country music that is played now is practically rock, it's not like the old-timey stuff that people seem to refer to when they talk about it; ya know, the my wife left me and my dog died sort of stuff. Lots of fun upbeat stuff these days!
