Taxidermy

I have heard of people having almost any beloved animal preserved by taxidermy, but what about horses. Full sized ones I mean, as I am sure that little ones could be taken care of.

Are horses too big?

I don't see why not. I mean, if the person wants to, I'm sure the taxidermist will comply. Money is money. I personally think it's weird though, to stuff any animal.

I can think of tons of stuffed large animals in museums and other places, especially famous ones. I would be very picky in what taxidermist I used though as I imagine its different to stuff a squirrel and a horse.

Some taxidermists won't do horses because their freezer isn't big enough to hold the horse before they're finished.

But if you did stuff a horse, where on earth would you put it? Would you leave it in the stable to confuse people or freak them out? In the paddock? In the bath?

I think it would only be people with money to waste who would do this kind of thing, and they are the kind of people who are likely to have the space to store it too. Maybe they have a huge courtyard with some kind of shelter, or else maybe it would be done for the film industry. I know that films often use preserved animals.

So perhaps those that win particularly prestigious races, or were well known? The question then is, where do they keep them, are they museum pieces?

I have yet to see anything larger than a dog or a bird stuffed before, and I am thinking the cost for stuffing a horse would be a good deal on the expensive side.

We have an Elk head in our living room. I think it would be hard to have a horse because I would have too much attatchment to it and I think it would make me feel weird.
