Again, same here. The noise really bothers her, she paces a lot. If I am there she is a lot calmer, but I have walked into the stable in the middle of a storm to see her pacing like she was trying to wear the floor out, whinnying and so on.

Most horses seem concerned about storms of some magnitude. Usually some hay will quiet them down but they still seem to grow wide eyed at large thunderclaps. I have heard stories about them being able to "taste" the electricity in the air during some lightening heavy storms.

When storms can even spook people on occasion, you can definitely expect horses to be a bit antsy about them as well!
While storms can be beautiful, they can also be rather loud and frightening as well! No wonder our horse friends get bothered by it! |
