Stables without eletricity

I have seen some that are the full works with electricity, a wash area and nice bedding. Then I still see some with only the old barns for bedding area only. Is there a law about having to have electricity and running water in the stable or no?

Electricity isn't needed for running water, and I've never seen a stable that didn't have a water source at least walking distance. I have been in older barns without lights (or so few it didn't help) and it doesn't effect the quality of care. I've never seen a law specifying that electricity or running water is required.

I think the couple I have seen with good electric also had a water place within the walking distance like you mentioned but very few have I seen that were the ace club stables for horses.

I never meant to be confusing. The electric and water were meant to be two separate things inside the barn or stable area not together. Many I see will have a water area outside the barn instead and I'm not sure if its just the way things are done around here or what.

I don't see why electricity would be a requirement in all honesty. Heck, humans have lived for thousands of years without it, why would we need it as a requirement for our horses?

It is not a requirement by law. People are different and they set up their barns according to their own personal taste or preference. I don't see why having electricity in the barn would be required

One of the cleanest stables I've ever seen was owned by a little Irish couple. They had a shoebox of a house and the barn was almost as big and kept a set of Welsh ponies they used to pull a cart. It had no electricity, and the water had to be got from an old fashioned hand pumped well. Some people may feel they need electricity and running water (most places I've been to have minimal lighting and a hose) but its pretty much not a need so much as a want.

I have electricity

I'm glad my gram had the stable/barn wired for electric years ago. It's a lot more convenient when I have to take care of the horses early in the morning or after dark in the fall/winter. She didn't bother with running water, though. There's a hose to the house's outdoor hookup that I use to water the horses or clean the stalls or just about anything.

I agree that it is definitely convenient-especially during the winter months when there is less daylight. That said, electric lamps can be carried pretty easily.
