Roping

Has anyone ever gotten into team roping or any type of roping with your horse?
My dad tried to teach me how to rope when I was younger but I never could get the hang of it. Needless to say, I could never do it from the top a horse!

I envy those who can do that

My gram used to be able to do just about anything with a rope. She was so coordinated and had incredible control. She spent most of her life on the family farm/ranch and there wasn't any sons so she could do it all.

She tried to teach me but I just wasn't coordinated enough, I guess. No matter how hard I tried, I could never really control the rope enough.

I'm trying to learn the art of roping right now. It is taking me a lot longer to learn than I thought it would. I'm not extremely coordinated but I've been making some progress over the last couple of weeks. I hope to do some team roping this summer (or next, depending on if I'm any good at it!).

I tried for a time, when I was a teenager and in equestrian club. I will say that it's not my forte. There were times when my kids were toddlers that I'd wished I'd mastered it!
