Riding During Monthly

I was just wondering about something, some might think it's kind of silly, but sometimes my mind just thinks what it wants to. I've not been riding much so I'm not sure about this. Is it ok to ride while you are on your monthly or is it better to wait until you are finished?

I can't see why you wouldn't. One of the best parts about modern technology is the fact that it allows us to take care of feminine needs without changing our lifestyles. So long as you don't have cramping or other symptoms that could make riding difficult there's no reason to let it interrupt.

I am wondering if you asked this since sometimes its odd to be around dogs (sniffing around) during that time of the month. It is a good question but yes as long as its no issue to you I doubt it will to the horse either.

Yes heidi, that was why I was asking. I hate being around dogs then and I had never heard of a horse acting any different but just wasn't sure. Thanks for all the answers!

In the almost tow decades I've been riding I've never had that issue. For dogs it is almost always a matter of poor training and social skills if they sniff after people. Dogs have a great sense of smell and its our job to teach them when its not appropriate to use it: monthly issues, finding scraps in the trash, fetching dead animals, etc.

I have heard of horses having slightly different behaviour. They can behave differently even during pregnancy, so why could it not happen during our monthly too?

If you are too worried just shower right before you go.

My mom's friend had a horse who was pregnant the same time my mom was with my youngest sister. That horse hated my mom then, and wouldn't let her come around her. Do you think it was because both were pregnant at the same time?

Maybe there was some kind of protectiveness going on? Maybe the horse could just tell that your mother was different and would have disliked her even if the horse weren't pregnant.
