Passive or not

I have a neighbor with a horse that we are not sure which breed but is extremely passive. To the point you can lead this horse just about anywhere. The saying that you can lead a horse to water but not make em drink, I am pretty sure with this one you could. Are there any specific breeds out there like this or maybe just a nurture side effect?

Don't think it's breed specific

I think it has a lot to do with the initial temperament of the horse as well has how it was raised and trained. I know there are probably breeds with more passive or aggressive tendencies than others but just about any horse could be docile when it is trained correctly.

Lots of different breeds are known overall for certain temperaments but each individual is unique and could follow the norm or break it as easily. Not all stallions are impossible to handle, not all mares are flighty. Most horses with thorough training and social conditioning are incredibly willing to please.
