nipping

I'm wondering what people do if their horse starts nipping? How can you train that out of him? Can you train it out of them? It can be a very painful and dangerous habit for a horse to get into. How does someone fix it?

We've always made a negative noise and walked away if a horse is being nippy. They don't get treats if they get nippy either. Most animals are more than capable of understanding they only get attention and treats when they behave.

We do something similar. I have a noise I make, something like "eh-eh" with a very stern tone. If a horse nips, I make that noise. I think walking away is an excellent idea to.
