Mustang Adoption Event at Local Barn

A local barn had a mustang adoption event this past weekend. It was from 10am-4pm and the grounds were cleared by 4:07pm when we went by. Before that it was packed like one of their regular horse shows. Do they really adopt out these poor horses in only an afternoon? I know they do so with cats, dogs, and other small animals but a wild horse?

I have never been to one of these events, but maybe the timing had something to do with weather, or the amount of people they had helping out? I would think both could be issues as well wanting to make sure people were home in time for dinner.

I have never been to an event like this either, so I could not tell you very much on how well they operate.

You would think that horse adopting would be a lot more involved than that of a smaller animal such as a horse or most dogs.

Depending on the audience the show was attracting, it is possible that there could of been a few adoptions.

I dunno I was just thinking at the one humane society I volunteered at we would spend at least a week and tons of background work to place a tamed horse, let alone a wild horse. We had two visits at the HS, one to their home without the horse and then another after the horse had been placed, unannounced. I'm hoping maybe they just did starting paperwork for them and noone took home a horse or something.
