Much of a book reader?

I have always loved reading books and magazines myself, although I will admit that I have not been reading nearly enough lately.

Are any of you folks into reading at all, and are you good at setting aside time just for reading a good book?

I should have enough time to do some reading today, but I guess we will see

Oh, yes! I love reading. I can never get to sleep without a good long read beforehand and I set my alarm so I can get a half-hour (or more!) read before I get up. There's nothing like a good book - except another good book!

I read all sorts but especially like mystery thrillers (I enjoy Tami Hoag and Sue Grafton - buts lots more)

I'm an avid reader, I read whenever I can catch a break from my kids. Right now I'm reading Love in the time of Cholera. It's very good so far. I'm also reading through a photoshop manual.

Love reading. I haven't done much reading lately (except for stuff online) because all my favorite authors are taking their sweet time releasing their next books. But I can rip through a 700 page book in a few days.

I dont think any of us read books as much as we used to. We are all so used to getting on the computer, its how I learn about most news. Local tv news is boring to me a good bit.

That is true. I probably read less now that I spend so much time online. I'm hoping to change that once I go to college. On the other hand, I try to balance out the online by doing reading online. Either e-books, or Role-playing games. Something to at least stimulate my mind.

And then of course there are forums...

I've read a few books recently. The Jumper series (the ones the recent movie was based on), and the Golden Compass. The Night Watch/Day Watch/Twilight Watch trilogy were very interesting as well.

Was the Golden Compass good? I've been wanting to read the book before I see the movie (so I can ruin it for myself), but the wait list at the library is taking forever!

yes that was also a great book.

The movie was alright in comparison to the book, but most certainly the book was alot better!

Didn't read the book, but my girlfriend and I really didn't like the movie at all. It would be a good movie to take kids to, but for adults it's really lacking. The special effects were good, but the story was really watered down, they spoon fed you the plot, and I saw the cliffhanger coming a mile off.

Maybe I'm a big geek but I have always been drawned to literature. So my latest book was Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and it was really a good novel. 2-thumps up like critics would say

I always have had a soft spot for a good book, so I think you can guess what my answer is

Be it online or offline reading, I just love to read stuff in general.

Wikipedia has actually been more counter-productive for me than almost anything.

You read one article, and then another...

I know exactly what you mean about wikipedia. It's like the internet version of that conversation that starts with Movies and ends on Hampsters and you stop and go "how the hell did we end up here?" It's addictive I tell ya. Like drugs for the internet. lol.

Reading is a favorite past time of mine. Especially in the summer when there's just not much on tv. As soon as the kid is in bed I grab my book and I'm good to go for the night.
