Maybe a silly question... songs

My little boy loves music, and of course horses like his mama and sister. Anyone know any horse songs? I can only think of Old McDonald, Camptown Races, and All the Pretty Little Horses. I'm getting sick of those!

Lol, not sorry I don't know of any horse songs.

Maybe look at some country bands, I know there was this band that used to write alot of songs about their relationships with horses, but they were all metaphorical and probably not so appropriate for a young child anyway :P

Right now the only child song that is stuck in my mind is the wheels on the bus (of all the ones right?), my little one is trying to have me hunt down a bus that sings that song, all places I have seen so far are all out of stock, but I will keep my eyes open for ya!

After much googling, I found another horse song, by Raffi. It's on his Quiet Time album, and it's quite nice, actually. Called Listen to the Horses.

There's:

All the Pretty Horses:

Hush-a-bye don't you cry,
Go to sleep-y, little baby.
When you wake you shall have
All the pretty little horses.
Blacks and bays, dapple grays,
Coach and six white horses.
Hush-a-bye don't you cry,
Go to sleep-y, little baby.

Oh - and there's the verse in 'She'll be coming round the mountain':

She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses, she'll be driving six white horses,
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes!

Thanks Aintree. I'd forgotten all about She'll be coming round the mountain. That should be a fun one to add to our repertoire.

I sing All the Pretty Horses to my kids every night, at request. Over and over. Ad nauseum.

My kids used to love 'She'll be coming round the mountain...'

The whole family would sing it on long car journeys - am sure passing motorists would think we were quite mad!

I mentioned this memory to my son recently and he's decided to teach his football team all the words so they can sing it on their next football match trip! (As the team is all over 30, that should be something!)
