Lips

The horse that I ride when I am having lessons curls his lip quite a lot. It looks really odd, but the handlers there have never mentioned a problem. What is this, and does it mean maybe that he has teeth problems?

Lots of horses curl there lip and lift their head to pull in smells better. Sounds kind of odd, but when you think about it dogs raise their noses to smell better as to people to some degree. I've never heard of teeth problems causing a horse to curl its lips.
