Killing horses for insurance claims

I was reading a blog the other day on Mr. John Edwards' mistress. It seems that the Rielle Hunter's father used her horse to collect insurance money. He worked with another man to electrocute the horse and then collect $150,000. Looks like Rielle Hunter had bad luck with men and horses.

Just like burning down your home or having your car stolen or wrecked for insurance money. Not all people see their animals as a living being and instead equate them as a posession that needs more upkeep. Rather sad but some people will do anything to continue living in the manner they are accustomed to.

That's disgusting, its as bad as killing a member of your family for the insurance policy that you have out on them. I hope that the law was harsh on him.

It's terribly sad, people get money hungry and greedy. They forget horses are living creatures. I'm not sure if he was penalized or how harshly, it was a gossip blog, so of course they focused more on the fact that she was John Edwards' mistress

That's just plain horrible! To think an innocent animal had to die for an evil man's greed. I just don't see how people can sleep at night after doing this.

I don't even know how I managed to overlook this story as it seems to be all over now. Its quite sick to think about but as with humans, many people do jerky things like this for the pay-off in the end.

RE:Killing horses for insurance claims

A speeding motorist who killed a horse and seriously injured the rider while talking on his mobile phone has walked free from court.
