Joint Stress
I know that when I am running on concrete or tarmac, as opposed to turf or dirt that my joints (knees and hips especially) will soon start to get sore. The impact just doesn't treat them kindly.
What about when horses are on concrete-how much does it stress them? |

I also think that they may get injured by walking them through concrete. But I guess it depends on the horse shoe that they are wearing. Police horses run on concrete but they are still in good shape in running through the city.
The same with our shoes right, we wear rubber shoes for running and leather shoes for formal occasions. I think there are also horse shoes that are made for specific grounds. |
