Insurance For Horses

When horses gets ill, a medical bill from a veterinarian is really high. Is there such a thing as insurance for horses? I would love to know the policies that it will cover and how much the owner of the horse should pay.

Thanks in advance

I have never heard of insurance for pets. It would be a great thing to have if you have many pets. I am eager to hear more about this.

I've never heard of pet insurance either. I also think that'd be a great idea - just like how there is life insurance. They have just as equal rights as we do. In the past - as well as even now many animals do a lot of what we do, like how there are dogs that help out in the police force. They get injured too. Even just regular pets too.

I agree with One More Lap on this. With today's society and on the past, animals nowadays have been involved with a lot of todays activities and events, and unfortunately they get injured a lot - so why not have insurance for them too?

Now this is something I know a bit about. Pro Plan always has advertisements for pet insurance in the bag lately and being a good mom I always read things in dog food.

The ASPCA (American Society for The Prevention of Cruelty of Animals) offers dog and cat insurance for animals over 8 weeks and under 13/15 years. Other insurance agencies offer a range of plans for anyone from a private horse owner to a farm to a hunt club. Normally a range of limits are available to reflect the value of the horse, etc. A quick Google search will offer up a ton of options.

Good to have these replies and comments. That's absolutely true that I could easily look for any insurance company in the internet if they cover any insurance plan for horses.

But now I would like to ask those who had any insurance plans for their horses. How did it go and what kind of accidents or fractures are your horses covered?
