I've been interested in horses for about 20 years with some breaks in between where I only had contact to horses/time to ride like once every couple of months. Been really "back in the horsey world" for 2 years now.
How about you ? ![]() Mefiant |

Ever since I could pronounce the word properly so a little over 20 years for me probably. I drove my mom nuts as a child. She decided that age 11 is "mature" enough for things like pierced ears (another thing I wanted) and lessons that were more costly than gymnastics or dance. So in the meantime I read every horse book at the libraries wherever we lived. I started with kids books, progressed to the non-fiction ones about horse care, breeds, and riding technique for kids, then the adult sections for non-fiction and some teen fiction.
By time she finally bought me lessons from the local Girl Scout camp I knew everything but what riding felt like. I could name off body parts inside and out, tack pieces, grooming equipment, and proper care before and after a lesson. She figured I'd grow out of it, but instead the yearning became a fever once I actually had ridden for a couple months. And unfortunately for her I wasn't half bad at it, which was partly her fault. I have excellent kinesthetic learning ability from all the dance and gymnastic lessons she got me trying to convert me away from riding and flexibility as well. I haven't ridden in ages, but I still read plenty about it and follow a couple blogs and play a horse based sim game to keep me "in the know" while I get financially secure enough to get lessons, or find a job in the industry. |

Because I grew up in the farm where there are horses already, I begin to like them when I started walking outside the house. I could remember when I was little when my father would take me for a ride on the hillside. The ride was fun and always thrills me.
So for how long I like horses, since I started walking and I think that's 23 years ago. |
