When your away
Who takes care of your horses? The can be for vacations or when you are sick. I always wondered, as it seems something like the flu spreads thru a house quick and it would seem all on the farm would be sick at the house at the same time, so who has to suck it up and take care of the animals, the oldest?

The mother! Face it, when you are a mother you have to get on with your daily life whether you want it or not. We are not allowed to get sick, or at least we are not allowed any recovery time.
So yes, it falls to us regardless of ill health. If I am away on vacation though, I pay someone to look after them. |

Maybe I should have stated it different - what happens when you are so sick you cant move. As in when you are a parent, the other parent (if its a two parent household) takes over all chores and childcare, same with the horses on the farm?
I had to jump out of town a little while back and had a friend take care of my pets (dogs/cats) but for a horse, I am sure the needs could be a little different, correct? |
