How long have you had horses?

How long have you had a horse(s)? I have had my Suzy for almost 3 years now. She is my little sweety. I feel a special relationship with her I have never felt with another pet.

I've had my horse now for about 1 year. I grew up riding but after I went away to school that kind of stopped. I love riding and decided to get back into it and purchased my first horse to do so.
You're right, there is definitely a special relationship an owner has with her horse.

I've always had horses

We have two farms in the family so horses have always been a part of my life. My own did not always live with me, though. For years, mine were boarded at one of the farms. It was nice to know who was caring for the animals and not depend on a stranger to board them. Even if they have a good reputation, I feel better knowing it was family taking care of my babies.

Not that long

I've been around horses briefly while visiting friends or my relatives but never had any until a few months ago. When my gram passed away and left me her small farm, several animals including 2 beautiful Morgans came with it. I didn't even take care of them until recently as I had to have a caretaker while I finished up with my lease and job before moving here. I'm very much a "new mommy"...lol.

I'm another that's been around horses my whole life. I got my own horse at 17, after working my booty off for a year at this crappy ice cream stand to earn the cost of the adoption and food for 6 months (my parents requirement). I saved for a horse instead of a car like all my friends (hey, they all had cars, so I didn't need one! ).
