Horses With Allergies

What allergies can and do horses suffer from? So many of the things that we suffer from seem that they would just be the end of a horse if they did, so are they a different breed of allergies, so to speak?

One would think they have the same similar to humans, things like pollen and the such. I know right now mine are going crazy with the springtime and mowing of yards.

Just recently heard of horses having allergies

Allergies don't seem to be that common amongst animals but they do happen. I didn't know horses could be allergic to certain types of hay but they can according to a story I read recently. I think I posted about it here - about someone's hay getting stolen? The lady had to buy special hay for her horse who was allergic to the local hays.

Yes I read the same article and found it to be a most bizarre thought. I wonder what it is that makes us so prone to allergies and animals are not.
