Horses in the house!

I was just remembering some show I saw on animal planet where this family had their horse living in the house with them, and even eating spaghetti and stuff when they ate at the table.

When I was young I would have been delighted, and even now, I have to admit I would love to have a relationship with a horse like I have with my dog, I'm the alpha, but it's fun to just be together. Laying against each other, and just being a companion.

But feeding it spaghetti? And tell me why did I just get so alarmed at that prospect when I really wouldn't flip over feeding my dog some left overs? haha

It was just nuts. Anyone else see that show?

I'm not sure of which show it is, but I have seen videos that were quite similiar - if not the same video(s) that you saw. But just, horses / ponies are like, outside animals...

Then again, there are odd people out there that do strange things.

Yeah, I saw that show. It was so funny. I can't imagine my parents letting me have my horse in the house. I can just picture my mom's reaction to having a horse at the table. HAHA. I doubt any of us would survive.

Is spaghetti even healthy for a horse to eat?

I think if its just cooked pasta (really cooked) then it should be okay, then again I am no horse expert either.

I have never known anyone to keep their horse with them in the house per say, a barn or a out yard home yes (larger barn area), seem pigs in peoples front yards, but no horses in the kitchen or anything.

I've never seen that one as we only have basic cable (who needs to spend $50+ a month when nothing is ever on anyway) but I do remember writing a report about seeing eye horses. The first one was in Maine, US and a miniature horse, the nice furry teddy bear type. They are normally allowed in the home alot during the initial training, wearing baby sneakers so their hooves don't mark the floors and such. I remember very vividly a picture of the horse sleeping at the foot of the man's bed. Now whether its something they actually did or it was just for the photos I haven't an idea.

I don't feed my dog scraps so my horse wouldn't fare much better. Although he does get carrots and veggies. I can't see having to "horse-proof" my home to keep a horse from getting injured/poisoned when a barn is just as nice.
