Horses Down South

Where I live the weather has fair extremes between summer and winter, but it's still not too hard to cope with the highest summer temperatures. But what about places in more southern North America, or say Australia-how do they cope with the heat? Being so big they must really get hot-especially with the Australian drought.

Not really sure about Oz but I know some friends that live in SE states and sometimes the humidity is a bugger to deal with. One friend setup a water feed area that will do almost like a bird fountain and have constant cool running water so it never gets stale and whatnot for the horse, then the rest just seeps into the ground slow so there isn't a mud puddle or anything. I figure humidity is a big issue no matter where you are.

Well humidity varies and right now Oz is going through a terrible drought, so they may not actually have a big problem with that. And still, high humidity reduces the rate at which you de-hydrate, so dry heat could be worse.
