for children. I know it is the horse itself that factors in but is there a breed consistant for it's gentleness to kids. One that won't scare if a kid gets too excited around it. One that isn't too big, but big enough to hold an adult?

Um, I'm not sure, but maybe a Haflinger? They're classified as a pony but I know adults can ride them, and they have a reputation of being very steady.
