Like with many other animals, there exists many different theories and thoughts of a Horses intelligence based offed observations etc.

Of course it is impossible for everyone to know the exact level of intelligence, I personally have found Horses to be very intelligent from my experiences.

How do the rest of you feel about this?

Oh yes, without a doubt they are one of the most intelligent of animals. I am not sure how I would rate them-under dolphins, but pretty much not under anything else I think.

They are capable of social relationships, including petty fights. This ranks them somewhere near us.

I don't think a horse has an appreciation of 'beautiful' or acomplishment, but they do have a desire to please. I suppose they're a bit like dogs, but less dextrous.

I also think that horses are intelligent. They are able to bond with us and even other animals, so I think that means that they have a sense of caring and protecting loved ones.

Mine are pretty smart though I do have two that act like goofballs. I guess even in the animal life sometimes you just need to kick back and laugh at yourself.

Horses are very intelligent. They have a wonderful memory. How many times does a horse simply "know" that you're almost home? Or exactly where to go for food. A horse can remember a human from years ago.
They have a society just like us. They look out for one another too.
Are horses intelligent? For sure.

Horses are indeed intelligent. They know many things. In fact wild horse can live on there own without human intervention. They don’t need someone caring for them if them if they are sick. All they are going to do is eat some medicinal grass. I believe this a proof that horses are intelligent.

Maybe I'm biased (but we probably all are, given the forum! :D), but I think horses are the smartest "pet" animal. It is amazing to me to see a horse learn, especially a young one. They are so quick at catching on. And like a pp said, they display a ton of highly evolved social and emotional traits.
