I was reading today that there is an outbreak of pigeon fever in Oregon. It is highly contagious .

Despite the name, the disease is not spread by the bird. Rather, the bacterial infection can cause abscesses that lead a horse's chest to swell like a pigeon's.

I have a friend that resides in that state, lucky no horses there, but I wanted to put up this link just in case anyone here is from there, or even close to there, no idea how bad this could spread.

Are they going to restrict traveling with horses? States get touchy about spreading diseases. It is sometimes hard to get the proper paper work and vet checks because of outbreaks.
