Mandi was the horse I grew up riding on. She was the perfect horse for a beginner and never gave me any problems. When I was 10 she was out in the pasture one night and there was a terrible rain storm. Unfortunately, she was struck by lightening and died instantly. So, this is a thread in honor of her.

I want to pay my respects, I know what it is like to lose something or someone you love dearly. But just remember the time you guys had when she was alive, hopefully you should have some photos.
Thank you. Yes, we had many pictures since I learned to ride on her and had her for awhile. After she died my mom made me a scrapbook with pictures of us in it. I still have it today.
I hope you wouldn't mind if I ask why is your horse outside in the pasture on a stormy night?
Nevertheless, I hope you have get through it already. Losing a loved one in an unexpected manner is the hardest way of separation. At least you still have her good memories with you.
No, I don't mind at all. I grew up on a cattle ranch where we had about 8,000 acres. After a long day of riding we let the horses out to pasture. Each pasture has plenty of grass and at least 2 water tanks or windmills. Therefore, the horses may not come back to the corral for a few days. It was just one of those Colorado storms that comes up in the middle of the night without any notice or warning.
