I couldnt find this anywhere else so I wanted to ask for those that have atteneded shows before. I know when you do a cat or dog show there is an entry fee involved. I figure with a horse it would be more (not counting stable help or anything else), but wondered what is decent price for nothing too fancy? They are holding small county shows in our area and some of the prices seem a little steep.

It depends on alot of factors. If the venue is expensive or the judges are well known, or they have a photographer who will be taking pictures for no "sitting" fee or they have fancy prizes (or participation ribbons for everyone) they can add up quick. The level of show is also important. Even if a bunch of locals get together in a cow pasture, if they want to call it a Hunter/Jumper Championship its gonna cost more.
I never realized how much the name would change the pricing. I can understand the judges being well known and the rest but the name I really never thought of. I guess I need to brush up on some of the terms.
