While not technically horses, these equines to have a character all of their own. I think they're often undervalued because they're not seen as being as prestigious as horses are. Anyone done any work with donkeys?

I have had the pleasure of working with donkeys. When I was younger I got hired as a summer student at a farm that had donkeys. They were one of the sweetest and hardest working animals I have ever seen.
Does anyone here know the reason that some people will call mini horses, donkeys instead? Over the holidays my aunts horse was called this a number of times, but I have no idea why.
Maybe because minis are as stubborn as donkeys? I actually saw an exhibition of donkeys doing dressage once at a big show. Not something I will ever take for granted again. I might not ever want a donkey instead of a horse but I'm not liable to pass one up if it fell in my lap and was decently trained.

I've never worked with them, nor have I ridden them since I was a wee one. I don't like them in truth-it's not something that I can explain, but more a phobia. I just can't get near them.
I think the reason mini-horses are called donkeys is because of their height. Some people think that they are donkeys just because they are small. I personally love donkeys, they are so cute and hard working!

I have never owned any myself, though some neighbors down the road have. They are hard working, more hard working in fact that some teenagers I know nowadays.
