Can you get black horses with pale manes? Is it possible, and if so does anyone have a picture of one? Is there a particular term for that pattern?

Are you talking a particular breed or just in general? I know a Paint or Pinto could easily be black with a white mane depending on the coat pattern. Highly unlikely perhaps but possible.

I found some information on silver on black as a dilution color. Its stated as a dark cocoa brown but one of the pictures looks very charcoal with flaxen mane.

Yes, the black silver's were the term I was looking for. Thank you for helping me find this, I wasn't sure if they existed outside of little girls imaginary horses with wonderful colours.

These are truly gorgeous horses. I had never actually seen dark horses with silver manes like that. I'm sure they are a very rare and expensive breed to ever hope to own.
