It seems every time I flip through a tack catalog there is more tack with gemstones on it. Stirrups, spurs, browbands, nosebands, etc. Do you actually see people using this stuff?

Some people use those kinds of things such as young girls and teenagers. It caters to people who also love fashion I suppose. I personally wouldnt use them though

I haven't seen anyone using blinged up tack yet, thank goodness. I should think that would draw attention away from the horse during any sort of show. Aren't you supposed to be highlighting the features of the horse during these events? Hopefully most sensible people will just let the natural beauty show through.
Nope, not seen it either thank goodness. I wouldn't trust myself to not laugh at the dudes that were using it if I did see it, if I am honest. I don't like bling at all, let alone on tack.

Its more likely to be used by girls, and in most cases rather understated. Especially compared to some of the ribbon browbands I've seen on ponies (especially Welsh ponies) that are really distracting. I'd imagine at higher levels it would be considered gauche to show with them.
I see this a ton in magizines that I have sent to me. I am not sure how many people use them but I figure its worth it every now and then if its not overdone.

The girls in my area use some of those blings. Not in shows though, just for leisure riding. They say it helps them believe that the horses feel pretty. Its weird I know but they're young girls :p
Who needs bling! There's no animal more beautiful than a horse. Why would anyone want to distract from that? Bling draws attention away from the horse and to the rider.
