I am looking at scheduling a sleep over for the girls at a local barn this summer and was looking for some good horsie movies to show. Any suggestions?

When I was a kid/early teenager I always loved to watch The Man from Snowy River. As an adult I see that it is kind of cheesy but it has a good love story and LOTS of horse scenes.

My favorite was the black stallion. Flicka and Black Beauty are good ones too. The man from snowy river was a good one for slightly older kids. I can't think of any more yet. That should be enough.

I really liked Black Beauty and Man From Snowy River. There was another one made in Australia about a racehorse that I really liked called Pharlap. It has a sad ending so you might need to provide a lot Kleenex.

Black Beauty was a childhood favourite for me too, but my favourite (though it wasn't hugely about the horses, but was funny all the same) was Blazing Saddles.

I think Flicka is perfect for a sleepover! How old are the girls? I don't know if I'd show Blazing Saddles to any younger than 10 or 12, but it is hilariously funny. :D

I don't know the ages of the girls but 'SeaBiscuit' is PG-13 and I think it would be a good one for the girls to see.

I will admit to completely missing in the original post, that this was for a sleepover. Given the ages of those who normally have sleepovers I would agree that it's probably unsuited. Sorry about that.

I really love Flicka. It is a great movie and not scary either. I think it would be a great choice for a slumber party.
