How much acreage do you all recommend per horse? We are just now looking at a little place with right at 4 acres....nice barns and facilities...horrible house tho...<blah> But we are considering the cost factors of possibly moving versus boarding? Thanks!

A minimum of 1 acre per horse is best, preferably more. If the soil quality or grass quality is poor more land would be best, about 2 acres per horse. You can increae land quality fairly easily though so that acreage should be good for 1 or 2 horses.

Thats good to know, I dont think I have enough land right now. I think sometime in the future I will be looking into getting another place, maybe look then.
