How lovely is this? There is a place called 2nd Chance Ranch for rescued horses, they allow for adoption & help to rehabilitate ones that are in dire need. These are the types of places I spend my charity money at, anything that can help, even a little is well worth the cause!
This is an article I found when researching them earlier for a friend. :)

I agree that it's wonderful that there are places like this available for those animals that need it. Not just horses, but all animals.

There are lots of lovely places that work on rescuing and rehabilitating horses as well as other types of animals. The problem becomes that there are always more animals than there are places at qualified rescues for them to be rehabilitated at. I used to volunteer at a rescue like this.

This is what we are looking at for our children, rescuing an older horse as a companion to begin with. I am hoping to find one that has not been abused, but simply in need of a loving home. So far, I have not found one locally...but still looking! :)
Props to you for being able to be a volunteer! I try to give what I can to places like this, I have seen a couple of shows that people will go and find old properties that have never been used for farms and so on, build stables for this. Kind of like habitat for humanity, but its for horses instead. :)

I love how there are people out there that want to help our animal friends. I am planning to go to the local animal shelter to adopt a cat for my little one. I am trying to get my husband to let me get another dog but he says that four are enough. :P
Does anyone know if there is a certain way to become an animal shelter? I know we have the space and I wouldn't mind the time and money that goes into it.
