Hoofpicks
Do you prefer to use hoofpicks that have stiff brushes on them, or just plain ones? I prefer brushes because that's what I'm used to, but a lot of more experienced hrose people seem to not use hte brush end at all, just the pick.

So long as your horse has a nice healthy hoof and its picked often you shouldn't need to use a brush unless its muddy out. Even then its more likely you don't need a brush to get the frog clear but its nice to brush off the mud to keep it from developing thrush.
I have one with a brush, but I'd have to say most of the time I use the plain, boring metal hoof pick. |

I think alot of horse people just don't take the time that some of us do. Sometimes we forget that spending 30mins grooming one horse isn't bad, but if you had a barn full of 20 horses that would be ten hours just grooming, let alone exercising or feeding or turning out.
