My name's Mark. I'm 15. My 16th birthday is in a few months. My parents have said they will get me a horse for my birthday present. I'm hoping to learn the things I will need to know to take good care of my first horse.

i am new here too.
good luck for getting a horse from me too. As i said to my parents i would have a horse as birthday present, they loughed me out and said every year.

Wait a few years an when you`ve got a job you can buy one.

And i did it. Last year.

It is great, when parent`s can comply the wishes of their children.
I wish you many wonderful days with your first own horse.

Thanks everyone. I've been asking about getting a horse for years. Finally, my parents said if I kept my grades up and didn't get into trouble, when I was 16 they would get me one. Since I've been in high school, I haven't made anything below a 'B' and I haven't gotten into any trouble (well, nothing big anyway). I'm so excited about it too.
