Good for Beginners

Which breed of horse is the best for a beginning horse rider? I don't mean ponies, just an average horse.

Not sure it matters

I've never noticed a particular breed being better than any other. A horse's temperament often comes more from good training than anything else, in my opinion. I do think an older horse tends to be less easily spooked and generally more docile for new riders.
