Global Warming

Can you honestly believe how many people are still convinced that global warming is only some kind of myth? It just shocks the heck out of me, how many people continue to deny the existence of global warming, despite all the evidence which shows otherwise.
What is your stance on global warming? Do you believe in it or not?

I think it's partly due to the name. People wonder why there's talk of global "warming" when the winters are getting colder. If they called it global extreme or something like that it may be more widely accepted. The earth isn't getting "warmer" in a sense we can see, but it's getting more extreme. The winters are colder, the summers are hotter and drier, and there are more natural disasters.
And it's all the fault of the developed world.

It is actually getting warmer

It's minute but the earth has warmed overall by something like a degree in 30 years. Winters are not getting colder for everyone, just certain parts of the world. That tiny temperature change contributes to the difference in the weather patterns along with the damage to our atmosphere, etc.

I also don't understand how people can continue to deny that global warming and climate change is occurring.

I agree that losing the term warming and calling it climate change is far more descriptive and accurate. I believe that it is true, in fact I didn't realise there was any other option or opinion till about five years ago!

I really don't know what to think anymore but I am really tired of hearing crappy reasons why its here and what can be done about it by people that just want to use this as an excuse to make their pockets fatter.

I had heard or seen, it's been a couple of weeks ago, that the earth cools itself down and warms itself up ever so often and then stabilizes itself.

It just makes me remember when elders in my family would always say that the younger generation walked around with blindes on, never thinking anything bad could ever happen.

Not just the younger generation

Right now, it seems to be in every generation. Even if they proved global warming was a myth, people need to wake up to the fact that we are depleting the world's natural resources faster than they can be replenished. At some point, we will run out or being in such severe shortage that we will look back fondly at the $4 gas.

I believe that there is global warming, and I think that it is just terrible. Whats sad about it is that its mostly the fault of us humans.

If we started replanting trees, now, would that help global warming? I know that the trees being cut down en masse is not helping our air, because they are what help make the air breathable.
