party ideas

My daughters love horses and ponies so this year I want to make their birthday party have that theme.
So far all we have done is rent out a setup where the horse walks in a circle with a kid on his back.
Any ideas on what else I could do?

Did you get a horse trainer type person? I know some that have their own horses will do this kind of thing on the side for extra money (parties and so on).

horse/western theme

Make it seem like the old west, maybe? Have all the guests wear blue jeans and bandannas, use straw bales, set up a "hitching" rail, things like that. Try to get some horse tack to decorate with like old bridles or saddles.

Good luck

Most pony parties include cheap cowboy hats in pretty colors, sheriff badge name tags, possibly allowing the kids to help groom and feed the pony treats, and other horse themed games and snacks. Providing a plate of carrot sticks and apple slices to the kids is always fun. A plate of hay and grain can be made with thinly shredded lettuce and sunflower seeds or croutons.

Does it cost much for a party like this? I would be interested in having a horse-themed party for my six year old on her next birthday. That is, I might be interested. By the time her birthday rolls around, she might love unicorns more than just horses!
