Water Pack for Horses?

I have seen packs for both humans and dogs to carry water on the back, and drink from a straw as you walk. Is there anything similar for a horse, for instance when you are trail riding.

I've never seen one for a dog...the basic problem would be whether or not you can train your horse to suck the "straw" and position it where they could drink but not be apt to chew on it or have it obstruct their breathing (since they already have a bit in their mouth most likely).

We normally just make sure our ride takes us past somewhere we can water the horses be it a safe stream, pond, etc or a friendly neighbor with a hose and bucket.

Carry a canteen

There is usually plenty of water sources where I ride but if it's very hot and I'm going in a different direction I just bring a canteen of water with me.

LOL - I had this image of a doggie walking down the street sucking on a straw.

I could understand seeing a horse with a pack to keep cool but never anything they could drink out of with a straw. I think that would end up being more of a hassle for both the animal and human trying to make sure it works and that its comfortable.

I've never seen anything like this for an animal. I think it would be very difficult to teach an animal to use a straw though. The only thing I can really imagine is something like the water bottle you give to a hamster!
