Friends and Your Horse

I have a friend who wants to learn to ride. She has learned that I have a horse, and has now asked if I will help her learn to ride.

I am a little unsure of this to be honest. I don't want to be responsible for an accident. I know that I could have her sign a contract stating that I am not liable for any injury, but I also don't know how I feel about having someone else riding my horse.

Have you left friends ride your horse?

I have let friends ride my horse, but not often, more of a "pony ride" type of thing. I have spent alot of time training Pumpkin the way I want him, and if I am to be successful with showing and exhibitions I need him to not get "untrained" or confused by another rider. He's a bit more stubborn than the well trained push button types we use for lessons. On the other hand you have the ability to teach your friend how to ride your horse how you want him/her ridden which could be a good thing.
