Fleas?

I was wondering if horses get fleas like dogs and cats? I wasn't sure, because I've never seen any flea treatments for horses, but I've seen lots of wormers.

Not too sure on that one, but it makes me wonder what horse owners do to keep the flies away as well. You are always seeing horses with flies trying to get at them all the time.

I have never seen fleas on a horse. A multitude of other parasites may infest a poor horse's body though, just I have never seen fleas. Ticks yes.

What would be the best way then to treat for ticks, same as a human would be or different b/c you are dealing with an animal?

Horses can get fleas just like any other animal especially if their coats are long haired. There are flea shampoos available but my family has not needed to use them so I don't know any brands.
