Feeding Time

How often do we need to feed our horses for a day? Is it the same with humans of an average of 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, supper). Are there different types of food to be given on each meal time or there food is always the same every time?

If a horse is turned out on grass they tend to eat small amounts all day. It is better for a horse to eat small amounts through out the day. Of course most of us work and we can't be around to give our horses small amounts. I feed in the morning on the way to work. Then I feed in the evening when I get off work.

I guess I found the answer for my own question. As I was searching for overfeeding horses on the neat, I found this nice site that teaches us how to feed our horses. It has the list of nutrients a horse needs and what kind of foods you need to feed the horse to get this nutrients. Here is the site:
