Essential Medical Kit

I would like to start gathering medical supplies that I might need for my future horse and put them in a box for use when something goes wrong. What objects might be good to start with?

Right now I have gauze pads, gloves, hydrogen peroxide, and duct tape.

You might want to look into some places like this that offer full kits, and you can pick what is a must have and build your own. Also check with a vet for some of the medicines you might need that can not be ordered online.

Thanks for the tips Lynzi. I think that checking in with the vet is the best way to go about this, they might know something that others don't, and I'm sure they can point me in the right direction. Do you think it's a better idea to buy the items individually, or to buy the entire kit together?

You are starting off on the right track but remember to put in some things for yourself as well just in case you are injured on the trails and there is nobody around to help you

I would personally keep the horses and humans kits separately. There are some items that I am allergic to, and so I base my kit around that-it makes it more expensive. There is no idea to provide a horse kit that deals with my allergies, so I don't want to foot the additional cost.

I keep my horses medical kit separate from mine its common sense.
