Does Anyone Own Dogs and/or Cats?

Just wondering if any of you who have horses may also have dogs and/or cats? If so, how do they and the horse/s get along?

My cousin used to own a huge horse farm and she had barn cats, as well as a dog or two. All of the animals seemed to live peaceably together.

We have no horses - just a black lab and a Maine coon cat - but there is a nice horse farm up the road, with at least a dozen horses - I enjoy driving out that way just to gaze longingly at the horses!

We've always had a mousing cat around the house. I've never taken them to visit the horses so I'm not sure if they would get along but there have been many barns with animals that did just fine together.

Barn pets are great. I have noticed that cats tend to shy away sometimes from horses unless of course they were born in the barn.

I don't have any horses currently, but I do have two Great Pyrenees and 3 goats. We just got the goats a couple days ago and will be keeping them for only a couple months. As always, my dogs get along fine with them because they grew up around goats. I'm not sure how well they'd like horses though. They get pretty loud at night when the deer come out.

I only have a cat and a little dog and the dog always barks at horses. She doesn't realize at all that she could have been dead already by a horse hit....
